While Americans stop feeling young in their early 40s, they start feeling old at 52, on average, according to a survey by the Worldwide Independent Network of Market Research.
The results offer important new insights into what happens as we age. For example, the team suggests that the biological aging process isn't steady and appears to accelerate periodically — with the greatest bursts coming, on average, around ages 34, 60, and 78.
According to Worldwide Independent Network of Market Research, this is also the year when millennials begin to turn 43, an average age when people stop feeling young. Apparently, as the early 40s, specifically 42 sets in, people start noticing physical signs of ageing.
As early as your 30s, your muscles can start to shrink and lose some of their fibers. At the same time, your tendons — the tissues that attach the muscles to your bones — become stiffer. That can make you weaker and make your muscles and joints ache more.

Declines in walking speed and aerobic endurance became evident in the 60s and 70s. More physical activity was associated with less physical decline, especially in ages 60 to 79.
But a 65 year old's experience of life is much different from a 90 year old's. The United States' older adult population can thus, be divided into three life-stage subgroups: the young-old (approximately 65 to 74 years old), the middle-old (ages 75 to 84 years old), and the old-old (over age 85).
Some medical problems known to lead to fatigue are: anemia, cancer, chronic heart and kidney disease, obesity, sleep apnea, diabetes and hypothyroidism, to name only a few.
If you feel depressed, forgetful, and physically vulnerable, you are likely to feel older. The result could be a vicious cycle, with psychological and physiological factors both contributing to a higher subjective age and worse health, which makes us feel even older and more vulnerable.

The faster you travel, the slower time will pass for you.
