A company cannot legally refuse to stop automatic payments once you have revoked authorization. Federal law, including the Electronic Fund Transfer Act and ROSCA, protects your right to cancel recurring charges. If they continue to charge you after receiving written notice, they are violating consumer protection regulations.
Navigate to the 'UPI' tab and click on 'UPI Autopay' under UPI options. Select the autopay you wish to cancel/delete in the Live tab. Click the three dots icon at the top right and choose the 'Delete Autopay' option. Confirm by clicking on 'Delete Autopay' and enter your UPI PIN to complete the cancellation.

AutoPay removes the need to remember bill due dates and payment information. Not only does this set-it-and-forget-it convenience ensure on-time payments, it reduces any potential dissatisfaction customers may feel when charged a late fee.
Locate the autopay transaction for which you want a refund. Check the transaction details to see if the refund option is available. Usually, refunds depend on the merchant's policy. Contact the merchant or service provider directly if the refund option is not available in the app.
To cancel a recurring card payment, you'll need to get in touch with the merchant directly.
UPI users can dial 24x7 the NPCI's toll-free customer care number at 1800 102 5624 to seek assistance for any UPI related issues. NPCI also provides assistance through an email support system, and users can write to upihelp@npci.org.in to report any grievances or give feedback.
This doesn't guarantee a consistent payment date each month. You could be caught off guard, or out of funds, if a payment posts when you weren't expecting it. Since autopay is a hands-off approach to paying bills, you're also less likely to inspect your cellphone bill after setting up automatic payments.
To withdraw consent, simply tell whoever issued your card (the bank, building society or credit card company) that you don't want the payment to be made. You can tell the card issuer by phone, email or letter. Your card issuer has no right to insist that you ask the company taking the payment first.

For most recurring payments, the UPI AutoPay limit is set at ₹15,000 per transaction without requiring additional authentication. This covers the majority of everyday recurring payments including: Utility bills (electricity, water, gas) Mobile and broadband recharges.
It uses USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) technology, which works on basic phones too. This service helps people across India do banking just by dialling *99# from their mobile.
Call and write the company. Call the company and tell them you are taking away your permission for the company to take automatic payments out of your bank account. The company's customer service should be able to help you, and there might be an online form you can use. Then, follow up by writing a letter or an e-mail.
Customers have the right to cancel a Direct Debit at any time by contacting their bank or financial institution. Businesses are legally obliged to respect and process cancellation requests promptly.
You have the right to stop a company from taking automatic payments from your bank account, even if you previously allowed the payments. For example, you may decide to cancel your membership or service with the company, or you might decide to pay a different way.

UPI AutoPay currently supports mandates of up to ₹1 lakh per transaction, as per NPCI guidelines. For amounts above this threshold, customers must manually authenticate each payment using their UPI PIN.
