Family members will be able to see a description of the payment method used, such as Apple Pay, but will not be able to see payment details, such as full payment account number. Family members will automatically get access to the organizer's purchases and can opt in to share their purchases with other family members.
Apple does not retain information about the transaction and the payment method eligibility check in a manner that is linked to you.
Apple Cash is an easy and private way to send and receive money, and it's built right into iPhone. You can send Apple Cash in Messages, in Wallet, or with Tap to Cash by simply holding your iPhone near someone else's.
Apple Cash is designed to help you send and receive money in a secure and private way. Apple created Apple Payments Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary, to protect your privacy by storing how much you sent, to whom, and your balance separately from the rest of Apple.
A PDF of your transaction history from the last 12 months is sent to the same email address that you use as your Apple Account. You can also see information regarding any fees that have been applied to your Apple Cash card.
If you're a parent or guardian who's not an organizer
You can: View your child or teen's Apple Cash balance. View your child or teen's transactions. Turn on Notify Me When [your family member] Makes Any Transaction to receive notifications when they make a transaction.
Your Apple Cash account registration information (name, address), balance, transaction amounts, and who you send money to or receive money from are stored separately by Apple Payments Inc. in a way that the rest of Apple doesn't know.
Click on the profile icon, then the settings icon. Select "Privacy" and set the Default Privacy Settings to "Private" (not Public or Friends). In the Privacy screen, scroll down to "More" and tap "Past Transactions." Tap on "Change All to Private" and confirm your choice.
The difference between Apple Cash and Apple Pay is that Apple Cash is a digital card that you can use to make payments, while Apple Pay is the digital service that lets you use Apple Cash (as well as other credit and debit cards you add to Apple Wallet) to make payments.
For Apple Pay Cash cards, the display name is “Apple Pay Cash” . However, there is no standard format for the display name's content. To protect the user's privacy, Apple Pay sets the display name only after the user authorizes the purchase.
Transaction Privacy: By default, Cash App has private transactions. Hence, only the recipient and you can view money transfer details when sending or receiving funds. No one else can access public feed or any activity log.
Parents do not receive notifications for every transaction made by their teen on the Cash App. However, they can access and review transaction history through the through-app monitor.
You can download their purchases on your Mac, iPhone, or iPad at any time. Other members of the group can access your purchases in the same way. You can hide individual purchases you don't want to share with other group members. Only the family organizer can set up Purchase Sharing (see Set up Family Sharing).
If you're under 18, your family organizer can set up Apple Cash for you as part of their Apple Cash Family account, but you may not be able to access features that require a supported payment card. Security checks may require more time to make funds available.
Apple Payments Inc. stores, and may use, the user's transaction data for troubleshooting, fraud prevention, and regulatory purposes once a transaction is completed. The rest of Apple doesn't know who the user sent money to, received money from, or where the user made a purchase with their Apple Cash card.
Since Apple Pay doesn't store your credit or debit card number on the device, you never reveal your name, card number or security code to merchants.
Apple Pay retains anonymous transaction information, such as approximate purchase amount. This information can't be tied to the user and never includes what the user is buying. Besides the use of Apple Pay in stores, it also works within iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS apps.
Until you are old enough to have your own account, your Parent is the owner or co-owner of your account. This means they can check your activity and see how you spend your money.
A 1099-K form reports payment card and third-party network transactions to the IRS. It reports income received from electronic or online payments, such as credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Android Pay, PayPal, and other non-cash payment types.
On your iPhone, open the Wallet app. Tap a card to see a list of your latest transactions. Tap a transaction to see more details or report an issue.
Parents and guardians who are not the family organizer of a Family Sharing group can view a child or teen's Apple Cash balance, their transaction history, and enable notifications when an Apple Cash transaction is made.
Your transactions are not something all your friends and family members can see. The activity on your account is locked unless you log into the app with your username and password on your phone or computer. If you still want to remove the transactions from your phone or the website, you need to close your account.
And because Apple Cash is a digital card in Wallet, you can spend your Apple Cash in stores, online, and in apps with Apple Pay. Apple Pay enables you to make secure, contactless purchases using your Apple Cash, your Apple Card, and any other credit and debit cards that you add to Wallet.
