In general, a cash deposit will settle by the next business day. A check deposit will generally post within two business days. An EFT processed through the ACH network may settle within the same day or could be settled in a business day or two.
Typically, you'll be able to use the funds one to two (1-2) business days after you make your payment. If your funds aren't available as expected, please call us and we'll review your account.
Electronic deposits that are automatically initiated outside the bank - like Direct Deposit or Social Security benefits - are generally available immediately. Can I spend the money that's being held for a pending transaction? No, the funds are temporarily unavailable until the transaction clears. Spending them could result in overdrafts or declined transactions.
We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined.
What time does Capital One post deposits? For mobile deposits or deposits made at a Capital One location, they are usually available the next business day. Direct deposits or deposits from external accounts, in most cases, should be available immediately once the transfer is complete.
