Setup is Easy. To add a new TAP card: On your iPhone*, open the Apple Wallet app, press (“add card” icon), select TAP – Greater Los Angeles, input an amount to add to your TAP card and follow the prompt to complete your purchase.

What is the difference between Apple Pay and Apple Wallet? Apple Pay is a safe way to pay and make secure purchases in stores, in apps, and on the web. Apple Wallet is the place where you store your credit or debit cards so you can use them with Apple Pay.
On your iPhone, go to Settings > [your payment app], then turn on Tap to Pay on iPhone Screen Lock.
Restart your iPhone or iPad. Make sure that your screen is clean and free of any debris or water. Disconnect any Lightning or USB-C accessories. If your screen works after removing an accessory, try using a different outlet, cable, or charger.
With Apple's Tap to Pay feature, vendors can use an iPhone to securely accept in-person contactless payments. In other words, Tap to Pay makes it possible to turn an iPhone into a point-of-sale (POS) terminal.
Cons of Apple Pay
Apple Pay is not accepted at all retailers and not compatible with all banks or card issuers. Backup may be required, just in case. Apple Pay only works if your phone does. You may still need to carry a physical credit card as a backup in case your battery dies or you misplace your phone.
Apple Pay is built into iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac, iPad and Apple Vision Pro. To get started on iPhone, open the Wallet app and tap the plus symbol. Then add a credit or debit card by tapping the back of your iPhone with your eligible card.
Apple Pay uses the same technology that enables tap on credit and debit cards. While the process is similar, paying with Apple Pay does offer these additional benefits: You can use Apple Pay anywhere you can tap a debit or credit card, so you'll no longer need to bring your wallet with you everywhere you go.
Or if you use our app, it is a “virtual” TAP card on your iPhone, Apple Watch or Android phone that you can use to tap and pay. Load your TAP card electronically with regional and local transit passes, Stored Value (cash amount) or transfers.
You can double-tap or triple-tap the back of iPhone to perform actions such as taking a screenshot, turning on an accessibility feature, running a shortcut, and more. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap. Choose Double Tap or Triple Tap, then choose an action.
Open your iPhone's Settings and tap the Accessibility option. Tap "Touch" and hit the Back Tap option at the very bottom. Now, set both the "Double Tap" and "Triple Tap“ options to the ”None“ position. After that, force close Settings and then re-enable Back Tap by heading to Settings > Accessibility >Touch > Back Tap.
