You will know if SARS owes you money by checking your Notice of Assessment (ITA34) on SARS eFiling, the SARS MobiApp, or by requesting a statement of account via USSD (1347277#). A negative balance on your statement indicates a refund is due to you.

If you never received your tax refund
To replace a lost or stolen tax refund check, you can request a refund trace in the IRS Where's My Refund tool. You will need to enter your Social Security number, filing status, and the exact whole dollar amount of your refund.

On the Taskbar of the Home page, click on e-file --> Income Tax Returns --> View Filed Returns. Complete timeline of the Income Tax Returns filed by the user will be displayed Assessment Year wise in which Refund status for particular AY will be reflected.
