Yes, Visa payWave is a specific brand of contactless technology. It allows you to make payments by waving or tapping your card or device near a terminal, similar to Mastercard's "PayPass" or general "contactless" payment methods. They work using the same Near-Field Communication (NFC) or radio frequency technology to securely transmit data without physical insertion.
PayWave is the most common, contactless payment system in Singapore. It works like contactless payments in the United States: tap your credit card on the terminal to pay.
