If you make a deposit of $10,000 or more in a single transaction, your bank must report the transaction to the IRS. Your bank also has to report the transaction if you make two deposits of $10,000 or more within 24 hours of each other.
Depositing a big amount of cash that is $10,000 or more means your bank or credit union will report it to the federal government. The $10,000 threshold was created as part of the Bank Secrecy Act, passed by Congress in 1970, and adjusted with the Patriot Act in 2002.
Reporting cash payments
A person must file Form 8300 if they receive cash of more than $10,000 from the same payer or agent: In one lump sum.
Note that under a separate reporting requirement, banks and other financial institutions report cash purchases of cashier's checks, treasurer's checks and/or bank checks, bank drafts, traveler's checks and money orders with a face value of more than $10,000 by filing currency transaction reports.

The Law Behind Bank Deposits Over $10,000
The Bank Secrecy Act is officially called the Currency and Foreign Transactions Reporting Act, started in 1970. It states that banks must report any deposits (and withdrawals, for that matter) that they receive over $10,000 to the Internal Revenue Service.
As mentioned, you can deposit large amounts of cash without raising suspicion as long as you have nothing to hide. The teller will take down your identification details and will use this information to file a Currency Transaction Report that will be sent to the IRS.
The Short Answer: Yes. The IRS probably already knows about many of your financial accounts, and the IRS can get information on how much is there. But, in reality, the IRS rarely digs deeper into your bank and financial accounts unless you're being audited or the IRS is collecting back taxes from you.

If your branch is closed or you don't want to wait in line, you can deposit cash with the ATM. Making cash deposits through ATMs is the closest you'll get to a cash deposit made directly at the bank itself.
The Reserve Bank of India sets limits on cash deposits in Savings Accounts. You can deposit only INR 1 lakh cash in one shot in a Savings Account. Cash deposits in a Savings Account cannot exceed INR 10 Lakhs in a financial year.
Unless it's an especially large check from a foreign source, you don't have to report personal check deposits to the Internal Revenue Service. However, if you deposit more than $10,000 in cash, you will need to complete and submit a tax form within 15 days.

You can sign up for a secret bank account online, but it is usually not recommended, since many of them require you to link an active checking account to it, which can be counter-productive. Ideally, you should visit a financial institution in person when setting up your account.
