Cardtronics is an American merchant that has been in operation since 1989. They specialize in providing ATM services and financial kiosks for various retail locations. Additionally, Cardtronics offers prepaid card services and other financial transaction solutions to businesses and consumers.
NCR gained control of the Allpoint surcharge-free network when it acquired the big retail and bank ATM network provider Cardtronics plc for $2.5 billion in 2021.
Cardtronics' Allpoint Network is the world's largest retail-based surcharge-free ATM network, with more than 40,000 ATMs in the U.S. and 55,000 worldwide. Consumers can find Allpoint ATMs in top retail establishments such as grocery and convenience stores, pharmacies, and big-box stores.
The app includes an ATM locator to find nearby ATMs for the consumer. Upon arrival in front of the ATM, the consumer selects Cardless Cash from the ATM menu, and the machine generates a QR code. The app scans the QR code, and once the code has been verified, the ATM dispenses the cash.
