Google Pay (GPay) in Canada is a secure, contactless, and fast mobile payment service for Android devices (phones, watches) that enables in-store, in-app, and online purchases. It uses Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to securely store credit/debit cards in the Google Wallet app and uses tokenization, which replaces actual card numbers with virtual ones for enhanced security.
With Google Pay, you can easily and securely pay with any eligible CIBC card. Download the app. on your Android device and follow the on-screen instructions to add your CIBC credit or debit cards. You can also add your card with the CIBC Mobile Banking® App, through “Settings and Security.”
