The 10,5,3 rule
Though there are no guaranteed returns for mutual funds, as per this rule, one should expect 10 percent returns from long term equity investment, 5 percent returns from debt instruments. And 3 percent is the average rate of return that one usually gets from savings bank accounts.
At 10 feet: Look up from what you are doing and acknowledge the guest with direct eye contact and a nod. At 5 feet: Smile, with your lips and eyes. At 3 feet*: Verbally greet the guest and offer a time-of-day greeting (“Good morning”).
The idea behind the 10:5 rule is that anytime you find yourself within 10 feet (3 meters) of someone, you should smile and make eye contact. When you are within 5 feet (1.5 meters) of someone, you should greet them with a friendly hello or other greeting.
I was listening to a podcast recently where the guest shared something called the “10-7-5 Rule”. The gist of it is that each person has ten defining moments, seven critical choices and five pivotal people who impact who they are.
10-80-10 PRINCIPLE SUMMARY
Every team or organization consists of three groups: The top 10 percent: disciplined, driven, self-motivated, want to be great, and work relentlessly. The 80 percent: the majority—those who do a good job and are relatively reliable. The bottom 10 percent: disinterested and defiant.
This is an arithmetic sequence since there is a common difference between each term. In this case, adding 2 to the previous term in the sequence gives the next term.
According to the NEC, outlets should be installed so that no point along the wall is more than 6 feet from an outlet. This means that outlets should be spaced no more than 12 feet apart on any wall. However, there are some exceptions and variations depending on the type and function of the room or zone.
Under the 80/20 Tip Rule, you can only apply a tip credit to an employee if they spend at least 80% of their time in category 1, and no more than 20%, or 30 consecutive minutes, in category 2. Meanwhile, no tip credit can be applied to any work in category 3.
Simply Put: When you are within 10 feet of someone, always smile and make eye contact. When you are within 5 feet, greet them with a friendly hello or other greeting.
The 10,5,3 rule gives a simple guideline for investors. It suggests expecting around 10% returns from long-term equity investments, 5% from debt instruments, and 3% from savings bank accounts. This rule helps investors set realistic expectations and allocate their investments accordingly.
Many novice investors lose money chasing big returns. And that's why Buffett's first rule of investing is “don't lose money”. The thing is, if an investors makes a poor investment decision and the value of that asset — stock — goes down 50%, the investment has to go 100% up to get back to where it started.
The 40/30/20/10 rule is a budgeting framework that separates what you earn into categories for spending your after-tax income: 40% for needs. The biggest category for most people is day-to-day needs. This includes housing, utilities, transportation, health care and groceries.
Always sell a stock it if falls 7%-8% below what you paid for it. This basic principle helps you always cap your potential downside. If you're following rules for how to buy stocks and a stock you own drops 7% to 8% from what you paid for it, something is wrong.
On steep properties, the slope of the ground around the footing could affect the footing's stability. The 7-Foot Rule states there should be at least 7 feet between the bottom of the footing and daylight.
Rules. 1. The Colorado Rule: a) one must ascend at least 3,000 feet in absolute elevation gain on foot from the base of the first peak of a series. b) foot traverses of less than 3,000 feet are allowed between peaks through traverses.
The Law is the so called Law of Two Feet, which states simply, if at any time you find yourself in any situation where you are neither learning nor contributing – use you two feet and move to some place more to you liking.
For years, the '7 yards' dogma has been repeated as the average distance in which a handgun shooting occurs. The origin, I'm told, is from FBI studies of police and citizen shootings. I found this statistic on The Firearm Blog, Shooting Illustrated, the NRA's site, Lucky Gunner, and many other websites.
Wall countertop recepteacles serve spaces for 2f ft. on each side of the receptacle. Therefore, the max. spacing between receptacles on the same countertop spaces is 4 ft.
A conductor rated a minimum of 33% of the ampacity of a feeder conductor may be tapped from the feeder provided its length is not greater than 25 feet and it terminates in an appropriately sized overcurrent protective device.
Summarize the rule:
- Start with 8. - Alternate by subtracting 2 from the previous number and then adding 3 to the next, repeating this process. This pattern results in the sequence 8, 6, 9, 7, 10, and so on. So, the rule for the pattern is: start with 8, then alternately subtract 2 and add 3.
This is a geometric sequence since there is a common ratio between each term. In this case, multiplying the previous term in the sequence by 3 gives the next term.
The sequence that is given to us is 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, ... a5 - a4 = 9 - 7 = 2. Hence, from the above simplification we can see that the common difference is 2. Therefore, the general term for the sequence 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, . . . is 2n - 1.
