"Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?" He said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. ' This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
The golden rule basically says to everyone to treat others the way you want to be treated. If you don't treat others the way you want to be treated, you're not going to get treated the way you want to be treated!
31 Do to others as you would like them to do to you. 31 "Here is a simple rule of thumb for behavior: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you; then grab the initiative and do it for them! 31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

The Golden Rule was proclaimed by Jesus of Nazareth during his Sermon on the Mount and described by him as the second great commandment. The common English phrasing is "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you".
Pride, also known as hubris (from Ancient Greek ὕβρις) or futility, is considered the original and worst of the seven deadly sins on almost every list, the most demonic. It is also thought to be the source of the other capital sins. Pride is the opposite of humility.
“Whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them,” Jesus said in Matthew 7:12. Luke 6:31 words it, “And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.” Applying this simple but profound human relations principle can help us to treat others with kindness, empathy and godly love.
One example comes from Ephesians 4:32: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God has forgiven you.” In this sentence, Paul has summarized the biblical message: that we are to be kind, compassionate and forgiving.
“13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”

“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” This seems the most familiar version of the golden rule, highlighting its helpful and proactive gold standard.
In everything, do to others as you would have them do to you; for this is the law and the prophets. One word which sums up the basis of all good conduct....loving-kindness. Do not do to others what you do not want done to yourself.

Golden Rule, precept in the Gospel of Matthew (7:12): “In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you. . . .” This rule of conduct is a summary of the Christian's duty to his neighbour and states a fundamental ethical principle.

“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?
