Higher interest rate: If the payment for a credit card is due for more than 60 days, a penalty interest rate is usually levied by the credit card companies. Many credit card companies set this penalty rate as high as 30% to be charged on the outstanding bill amount.
Your balance could increase
Missing a minimum payment or paying late can increase your balance if a late fee is added to the account. Also, you may continue to be charged interest on your unpaid balance until your card issuer receives your payment in full.

LATE PAYMENT CHARGES
If no payment is made on or before Payment Due Date or payment made is below the Minimum Payment, a Late Payment Charge of 5% of the Overdue Amount or P300, whichever is higher, will be charged to your account.
CARDHOLDER agrees to pay late payment charges or other charges for any unpaid amount due at a rate of 5% per month or PhP300. 00, whichever is higher. Unpaid Late Payment Charges shall form part of the Outstanding Balance and shall continue to incur finance charges every month until the balance is fully settled.
Missing a debt payment by just one day won't hurt your credit scores. Late payments typically don't appear on credit reports (and therefore hurt your credit) until they're past-due by 30 days or more. However, you may face fees and other penalties.
One-day late payment will not affect credit score
If you make a payment one day late, or even a few days late, the payment will not be reported as “late” and it will not impact your credit score.
A late payment fee is an extra charge a customer needs to pay when they don't pay a bill by the due date. It's typically 1% to 2% of the past-due invoice amount.
That said, most credit card issuers offer a grace period, which typically lasts between 21 and 25 days from the end of each billing cycle. You can typically pay your balance at any point during this grace period without incurring interest charges.
Approach the nearest ATM first. Insert your credit card into the ATM. Select 'Cash Withdrawal' from the ATM menu and enter the desired transfer amount. Enter your PIN and retrieve the cash; now, you can deposit the amount into your bank account.
To calculate the interest due on a late payment, the amount of the debt should be multiplied by the number of days for which the payment is late, multiplied by daily late payment interest rate in operation on the date the payment became overdue.
A bank account is considered dormant when there is no financial activity—deposit or withdrawal—for a period of two years for a savings account and one year for a checking account. Dormant accounts are subject to dormancy fee, under the regulations of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
Statement Date is the regular statement Cut-off-date of all the CARDHOLDER's BDO Credit Card transactions. If statement date falls on Friday, Saturday or a Holiday, statement date will be the preceding day or the following day after the official statement date.
If you missed a payment because of extenuating circumstances and you've brought account current, you could try to contact the creditor or send a goodwill letter and ask them to remove the late payment.
If you've only missed your payment by a day, it's unlikely that your credit score will be affected. Late Fees: Depending on your bank's policy, you may or may not be charged a late fee for a one-day delay. Some banks wait till the 30-day grace period is over to impose the late payment fee.
It may also characterize a longer credit history with a few mistakes along the way, such as occasional late or missed payments, or a tendency toward relatively high credit usage rates. Late payments (past due 30 days) appear in the credit reports of 33% of people with FICO® Scores of 700.
A 700 credit score is considered a good score on the most common credit score range, which runs from 300 to 850. How does your score compare with others? You're within the good credit score range, which runs from 690 to 719.
Balance transfer fee. This fee will typically be 3% to 5% of the amount transferred, which translates to $30 to $50 per $1,000 transferred. The lower the fee, the better, but even with a fee on the high end, your interest savings might easily make up for the cost.
Late payments are reported to the credit bureaus once you're at least 30 days past your bill's due date. If you can bring the account current before then, you may be able to avoid the potential damage to your credit scores.
Most negative items should automatically fall off your credit reports seven years from the date of your first missed payment, at which point your credit score may start rising. But if you are otherwise using credit responsibly, your score may rebound to its starting point within three months to six years.
When it comes to unpaid bank loans, a financial institution may request a travel ban to prevent the debtor from leaving the country until the debt is settled. This legal mechanism is usually rooted in ensuring that the debtor does not evade their financial obligations.
Please note that the BARO Act grace period is one-time starting from the due date concerned plus 60 days. No interest on interest, penalties fees and other charges for late payment will be imposed during the grace period.
