The spirit of debt, from a spiritual and biblical perspective, represents a condition of bondage, lack, and, in some contexts, a spiritual force that causes financial hardship and hinders one's calling. It is often described as a state of slavery to the lender, as referenced in Proverbs 22:7, emphasizing that excessive debt goes beyond financial trouble to become a deeper, spiritual issue.
debt--A contradiction of the universal equilibrium. There is no such thing as lack of equilibrium in all the universe; therefore, in Spirit and in Truth there is no debt. Debts are produced by thoughts of lack, impatient desire, and covetousness.
Six Steps on the Path to Overcoming Debt
Tyndale Bible Dictionary. Something owed to another person, such as goods, property, or money. In the Bible, righteous conduct is something one “owes” to God; hence, in theology, sin is described figuratively as being “in debt.”
God desires His children to live in freedom—spiritually, emotionally, and even financially. While debt isn't always sinful, it can become a heavy burden that limits generosity, fuels anxiety, and distracts us from God's purposes.
Proverbs says, “Don't withhold repayment of your debts” (Proverbs 3:27 TLB). And in Romans you can read, “Let no debt remain outstanding” (Romans 13:8 NIV).
There's no single #1 worst sin; it depends on the religious or moral framework, but pride is often called the root of all evil (Christianity/Islam), while the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (unforgivable sin) is considered the gravest in the Bible. Other severe sins include child abuse (Catholicism) and sins that "cry to Heaven" (like shedding innocent blood or oppressing the poor).
Start paying God and yourself first.
If you want to get out of debt, you've got to start tithing 10 percent (paying God) and saving 10 percent (paying yourself). People in debt will balk at this. They don't understand how tithing and saving will help get them out of debt.
The words mean roughly the same thing. But they don't mean exactly the same thing. The word trespass suggests that we have violated a rule or committed an infraction. The word debt suggests we owe God something we cannot pay.
Proverbs 22:7 says, “The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.” If you owe someone money, they'll control your life until you pay it back.
I come before You today, weary and overwhelmed, asking for divine intervention. This cycle of debt has drained my peace, my joy, and my strength. But I believe You are greater than any financial mountain I face. In the name of Jesus: I break the spirit of financial bondage over my life.
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Philippians 4:19: And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
Debt comes from the Latin word debitum, which means "thing owed." Often, a debt is money that you must repay someone. Debt can also mean the state of owing something — if you borrow twenty dollars from your brother, you are in debt to him until you pay him back.

Matthew 6:12 is Jesus' second reference to lending- related terms, this time focusing on our debt to God and those in debt to us: “And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” Like Matthew 5:42 above, this teaching is included in the Sermon on the Mount, directed both to the disciples and the world ...
To end a prayer, you typically use a concluding phrase like "Amen," meaning "so be it," often preceded by a reference to Jesus (e.g., "in Jesus' name," "through Christ our Lord") in Christian traditions, or other culturally specific closing words like turning your head in Islam, making the closure personal and meaningful.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Bible Verses for Declaration: Deuteronomy 28:12 — “The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand.” Psalm 37:21 — “The wicked borrows and does not repay, but the righteous is generous and gives.” Romans 13:8 — “Owe no one anything ...
Jeremiah 33:3 is a promise from God in the Bible that says, "Call to me, and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known," (ESV) encouraging people to pray and seek Him, promising divine revelation and powerful answers beyond human understanding. It's often seen as an invitation to prayer, assuring that God is available to reveal deep truths, guidance, and hope, even in difficult times, as demonstrated when God gave this message to Jeremiah while he was imprisoned.

One eternal or unforgivable sin (blasphemy against the Holy Spirit), also known as the sin unto death, is specified in several passages of the Synoptic Gospels, including Mark 3:28–29, Matthew 12:31–32, and Luke 12:10, as well as other New Testament passages including Hebrews 6:4–6, Hebrews 10:26–31, and 1 John 5:16.
Sin is sin. There's no sin greater than another except for blasphemy of God's Holy Spirit. In my opinion, yes, committing adultery is far worse than stealing a snickers, but with God, it's all the same. It's the most dangerous act in the world!
