DailyPay deposits the remaining part of your paycheck on your normal payday morning, while any early access transfers (for a fee) are usually instant or next-day; the exact payday deposit time depends on your bank's processing, but it's often by morning (EST), with the leftover funds deposited on the official payday after all advances are settled.
DailyPay offers two types of transfers: Instant and Next Day. Instant = Money is available instantly, 24/7, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays. Next Business Day = Transfers requested prior to 11:00 p.m. EST are available in the morning on the next business day.
You typically get paid via direct deposit by 9 a.m. on your payday, but often it's even earlier, sometimes right after midnight (between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m.), depending on your bank and employer's payroll system. Funds are usually available overnight through the ACH network, but the exact time varies by financial institution and when your employer sends the payroll file.
OnePay will post your direct deposit as soon as we receive it, up to two days early (3 days early from limited employers), based on when we receive the funds from your employer or the other sender.
OnePay offers up to $200 in Fee-Free Overdraft Protection for OnePay Cash+ members, unlocked by receiving $500+ in monthly direct deposits or maintaining a $5,000+ balance, with limits increasing over time and viewable in the app. This protection covers debit card and Wallet transactions, using your Savings Backup first if enabled, and requires immediate repayment.
This usually happens if the employee's personal bank account information (bank account and routing numbers) on file with DailyPay is incorrect. The rejected/failed payment will be returned by the bank to DailyPay. This process takes up to three business days.
You should expect payment between midnight and 9 a.m. on payday. However, there is no federal law in the US that sets limits on when you should receive payment on payday. Most states consider a payment on time if it's initiated on payday, even if you don't immediately have access to your money.
DailyPay updates earnings after each shift, typically within 24 hours, as your employer sends your hours; expect a potential delay of up to 3 days for reporting. Once updated, you can instantly transfer funds (for a small fee) or use a free next-business-day transfer.
Contact the credit union or bank that you designated to receive the deposit, to see if they received the funds but have not released the money into your account.
You are still being paid by your employer! DailyPay only deposits your paycheck. On payday we will deposit your paycheck into the primary account you set in the DailyPay app or website. If you see 'Wells Fargo, N.A.' in your bank statement, that's still DailyPay!
We use Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. as our partner bank. All DailyPay client accounts are operated by Wells Fargo. So, after your direct deposit information has been updated with your company it should read as a Wells Fargo account.
DailyPay hits instantly with an "Instant Transfer" (often within minutes to 24 hours via debit card) or next business day with a "Next Day Transfer," which arrives by morning if requested before 11 PM EST; you can access earned wages 24/7, but regular paychecks are deposited on payday, minus any amounts you've already taken out.
Reasons your direct deposit hasn't hit
That said, if you haven't received your direct deposit, it could be for several reasons: Your employer entered an incorrect date when processing your payroll. Processing is taking longer than usual due to holidays (payday falling on a bank holiday often delays direct deposits).
DailyPay is connected to your employer's timekeeping system and receives automated reports of your hours worked. Usually, it takes 24 hours for a shift to be added to the automated reports. (At times, due to unexpected delays in reporting, it can take up to 3 days for a worked shift to be reported.)
DailyPay is an optional benefit that allows you to get your pay any time before payday and easily track how much youʼre making. Itʼs an upgrade to your existing payroll system that allows you to access some of your pay faster than youʼd otherwise be able to.
The latest a direct deposit can hit is typically by 9 a.m. on your scheduled payday, though it often arrives as early as midnight, depending on your bank, the ACH network processing, and your employer's payroll submission time, with potential delays for weekends/holidays or verification holds. If it's late (not there by morning), it usually means the payroll was submitted late or there's a bank hold, potentially delaying it to the next business day or longer.
overdraft interest rate - This is the interest rate that currently applies to borrowing under an overdraft. EAR stands for equivalent annual rate. It takes account of the interest rate and how often interest is charged, and does not include any other fees or charges.
