If your earnings haven't been updated in the DailyPay app, we're here to help. Typically, there are a few common reasons for this: Weekend (Salaried earnings will never update during the weekend) Day before payday (available earnings goes to $0 so we can send you the remainder pay the following day)
What happened most likely is that either your hours were over reported by your employer in error allowing you to transfer more than you made OR you have something coming out of your paycheck like a garnishment or child support that DailyPay cannot account for when giving you a balance.
To check your balance, you can text* “BALANCE” to 66867. We will check in real time and report back with your current balance! You can also subscribe to be notified when your earnings are available to transfer. You can choose to either push, text, or email notifications.
If what is available now in DailyPay has not been updated, please check to see that you have correctly logged your hours. Your earnings can potentially be delayed by the kind of work you're doing, how it's being reported or how much data is being entered by your employer's payroll team at one time.
This usually happens if the employee's personal bank account information (bank account and routing numbers) on file with DailyPay is incorrect. The rejected/failed payment will be returned by the bank to DailyPay. This process takes up to three business days.
When will I see updates to my available DailyPay Balance? Your available DailyPay Balance is updated three times a day (morning, afternoon, and night).
Once we receive this final paycheck, and the account balance is covered, your account will be fully canceled out. This process can take up to a couple pay periods to ensure full account closure.
On payday, the employer sends the full net pay to DailyPay. The employee then receives their net pay minus any transfers as they normally would on payday.
Earned Wage Access Can Be Expensive For Employees
Many daily pay providers proudly advertise “No Fees,” but be careful of the fine print! While it may be free to sign up, it's not free to use. Many providers charge a fixed fee every time an employee accesses their funds, sometimes offering up to five transfers a week.
But if you've made a debit card transaction that the merchant hasn't reported to your bank yet or still have outstanding checks, those items may not be included in your available balance. The same goes for upcoming payments that will hit your account in the next day or two but haven't been processed yet.
If you haven't used your account in 30 days, it will be automatically Paused. You will receive an email notification letting you know your account status has been changed to Paused.
With instant transfers, money is available instantly, 24/7. With next- business-day transfers, money is received on the next business day. (This applies to any transfers requested after 5:30PM EST. Most instant transfers will be in your bank account within 30 minutes. In rare cases, your transfer may take up to 24 hours to appear. If you don't see the money you transferred in the bank account associated with your debit card 24 hours after your transfer was sent, contact the DailyPay Support team.
A financial institution may put a hold on a direct deposited check in some situations, such as if the check is for a large amount, the account is new, the account has been overdrawn, or the bank has a concern about the ability to collect the funds from the payer.
You can send money from your DailyPay Card to another card or bank account under your name by making an Instant Transfer or 1-3 business day Bank Transfer. Instant transfers cost a $3.49 fee. They can be made to a Visa®, Mastercard® or Discover® debit card under your name, and will deposit immediately.
Good news - you'll still be paid on your normal payday in the account that you choose. You might notice a few small changes, though. DailyPay works in partnership with your employer so you can get your pay early if you want to.
Updated DailyPay Calculation FAQs
Here's how it works: At the beginning of the pay period, you'll typically see a higher amount available for transfer. Then, as you work more (which generally means your deductions increase), you will see a slight decrease in the amount made available from later shifts.
If the regular payday for the last pay period an employee worked has passed and the employee has not been paid, contact the Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division or the state labor department. The Department also has mechanisms in place for the recovery of back wages.
If you're closing your earnings account but have made transfers in this pay period, DailyPay will deposit your paycheck on your next payday. If you've made transfers with continuous access from two pay periods, DailyPay will deposit your paycheck on your next two paychecks.
Federal withholding is money that is withheld and sent to the IRS to pay federal income taxes. It goes to pay for a number of programs, such as national defense, foreign affairs, law enforcement, education, and transportation. Every year, the federal elected representatives meet to decide how this money will be spent.
When you have an overpayment and next log in to the DailyPay app, you'll see the overpayment amount and will be asked to choose one of three options. These are: 1 Pay the full amount by bank transfer. 2 Pay the full amount automatically from your next paycheck.
Check deposits: When you deposit a check into your account, some or all of the funds from the check might not be incorporated into your available balance until the check clears — which usually takes about two business days.
The DailyPay account may appear as a Wells Fargo account. The routing number will always be 121000248, and the account number will start with 3258.
