After successfully depositing your check into an ATM, you'll likely be wondering how and when you can access your cash. Many banks make check deposits available within two business days, and some may process them even faster.
In a nutshell, there are five key differences between ACH and wire transfers: Wire transfer speeds are faster than ACH payments. ACH payments are less expensive than wire transfers. ACH payments are generally more secure compared to wire transfers.
Banks offer various types of deposit accounts. You can open savings, current, and salary accounts. You can also open fixed and recurring deposit accounts. You can withdraw sums easily from all accounts except FDS and RDs that come with early withdrawal penalties.

The safest and fastest way to get cash is to take your check to the check writer's bank. That's the bank or credit union that holds the check writer's funds, and you can get the money out of their account and into your hands instantly at that bank.
It usually takes a few seconds to review a check for approval, although it can take 10-15 minutes and in rare circumstances, up to 1.5 hours while we work to verify enough information to approve your check. If your check is approved, your money can be credited to your Venmo account usually within minutes.
Some third-party providers can facilitate instant ACH transfers. This means that the money is made available before they're even received by the RDFI. But the ACH network alone doesn't provide this service. The most common use case for immediate ACH transfers is peer-to-peer transfers like – Paypal or Venmo.
Domestic wire transfers are incredibly fast. Most times, you can expect to see funds landed within 24 hours. This is because domestic wire transfers tend to process same-day, with landed funds arriving next day as the bank opens.
ACH debits, such as bill pay or withdrawals, generally take 1-3 days to process, while ACH credits, such as direct deposits or vendor payments, generally take just one day to process. Same-day ACH, which typically requires an additional fee, processes the same business day.
With some bank's ATMs and account types, the funds may not be available until the second business day after the deposit. And if you are using an out-of-network ATM, you may be charged additional ATM transaction fees, and it can take up to 5 business days before you see the money in your account.
When do checks clear? By law, banks are required to make at least the first $225 of a personal check deposit available for use by the next business day 1 . Note that certain checks may take additional time, particularly if it's an international transfer as those may take longer to verify.
Our general policy is to make funds from your check deposits available to you on the first business day after we receive the deposits. In some cases, we may delay your ability to withdraw funds beyond the first business day.
Getting some temporary counter checks can be faster, but you'll need to get them from your bank. If you feel you need them urgently, it may be wise to visit a branch in person. Be sure to bring your ID with you. They may be printed on the spot for you.
