Send the Check or Image
Your check is now ready to send. If you're going to provide the voided check electronically, don't just send it out in the open, in a standard email message.
Most employers will ask for a voided check to set up your direct deposit in addition to filling out a form. They ask for this because a check has all the information your employer needs to help ensure your paycheck is deposited in your account. If you don't already have checks, you can order checks online.

You can ask to have your name, address and other required information printed on a blank, along with your routing number and account number. Not all banks do this, however, and there may be a fee.
Stop by your bank and ask them for a counter check. They will print this for you, and then you can void it to give to your employer.
If you can't use a deposit slip or starter check, your bank may be able to provide you with an official letter with your routing and account number that you could use in place of a voided check.
CHECKPRINT has a really simple voided check generator. All you need to do is fill out a simple form, and your check will be generated and saved automatically. You can then find it on your dashboard for further use. You'll be able to print it, save it as a PDF file, or send it via email.
