The Angel of Death is neither inherently good nor bad; it's a complex figure representing the natural, inevitable transition from life, often seen as a compassionate guide helping souls (like Azrael in Islam/Judaism) or a stern messenger of divine justice, carrying out God's will, sometimes perceived as terrifying due to fear of death itself, but ultimately a necessary cosmic role.
The Death Angels, also referred to as "Listeners" from survivors, are the main antagonists of the A Quiet Place franchise. Death Angels arrived on Earth inside meteorites that hit the planet. They have incredible hearing, which they use to locate and attack anything that makes even the slightest sound.
Michael is mentioned explicitly in Revelation 12:7–12, where he does battle with Satan and casts him out of heaven so that he no longer has access to God as accuser (his formal role in the Old Testament).
Often depicted as a celestial being tasked with guiding souls from the earthly realm to the afterlife, the Angel of Death embodies the mystery and inevitability of death. This figure can be both feared and revered, symbolizing the delicate transition between life and the unknown.
You could say an angel is an agent providence, while a demon is something that actively defies and corrupts the will of god/order of nature. Supernatural entities associated with death are often seen as being in service of the natural order. By this logic the Grim Reaper would be an angel.
Satan's Fall is Rooted in Free Will
Lucifer's decision to oppose God was a deliberate act of defiance, driven by his pride and desire for power. This choice ultimately led to his transformation into Satan and the origin of evil.
In LaVeyan Satanism, Lucifer is described by The Satanic Bible as one of the four crown princes of hell, particularly that of the East, the "lord of the air", and is called the bringer of light, the morning star, intellectualism, and enlightenment.
Accordingly, fallen angels became identified with those led by Lucifer in rebellion against God, also equated with demons. The angelic origin of demons was important for Christianity insofar as Christian monotheism holds that evil is a corruption of goodness rather than an independent ontological principle.
Set several years after the arrival of the Death Angels to Earth, the franchise's first film establishes the creatures as the primary antagonists. They have killed most humans and destroyed almost all governments, leaving the planet's remaining inhabitants in a silent, post-apocalyptic survival situation.
So far, Corso is the only player to survive the harbinger/death angel once.
While some books in the Hebrew Bible describe Azrael as an avenging soldier taking lives at God's command, the angel is most often portrayed as a compassionate figure. Azrael's role is to help souls transition from life to death and comfort those who have lost a loved one.
Some say the Archangel Michael plays some role in the process from passing from this world to the next as the "angel of death", but no Bible verse or passage supports this notion.
Because the Egyptians refused to set free the Israelite slaves, God sent a number of plagues upon them, the worst of which involves the Angel of Death killing the firstborn of anyone who does not have the blood of a lamb on their doorposts.
Allah (SWT) sends his angel Azreal, known as the angel of death, to retrieve the soul from the human. After Allah (SWT) has instructed Azreal (AS) to take your soul, you are then declared dead in the world of the Dunya.
It is described as the result of Satan, who is often identified as the angel Lucifer, rebelling against God and leading to a war between his followers and those still loyal to God, led by the Archangel Michael.
It is true that we believe that angels do not have gender. Angels unlike human beings are pure spirit. This is why when people say that a human being has become an angel in heaven that is incorrect. Any human being in heaven is a saint.
Michael the Archangel. St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
He is responsible for taking the souls of the deceased away from the body. Azrael does not act independently, but is only informed by God when the time is up to take a soul.
