As time has passed, we have seen more and more of what the Bible says will happen close to the return of Jesus.
The Bible describes numerous signs of the end times, including increased wars, famines, pestilences (diseases), and earthquakes, often described as "birth pains," along with religious deception, false messiahs, lawlessness, and persecution of believers, and signs in the heavens like darkness and celestial events, culminating in the return of Christ and judgment, with many prophecies pointing to increasing global instability and moral decay.
Signs of the end of the world vary by belief system but often include widespread natural disasters (earthquakes, famines, pestilences), major conflicts (wars, ethnic strife), societal decay (lawlessness, immorality, religious deception), and unique celestial events or signs, with many traditions pointing to a culmination of these tribulations before a final judgment or new era. Modern interpretations also add concerns about AI, climate change, and increased global tracking as potential indicators.
1 What Are the Signs of the End Times?
The "seven signs of Revelation" typically refer to key symbolic figures and events in Revelation chapters 12-14, including a Woman clothed with the sun (Israel), a Great Red Dragon (Satan), a Male Child (Christ), the angel Michael, the Beast from the Sea (Antichrist), the Beast from the Earth (False Prophet), and the 144,000 Lamb's followers, all representing the cosmic battle between good and evil during the end times. Other interpretations see "seven signs" as part of the larger sequences of seals, trumpets, and bowls that detail divine judgments.
Signs of Jesus' return, as described in Christian prophecy, include widespread calamities (wars, earthquakes, famines), the rise of false prophets and deception, the gospel preached to all nations, the darkening of the sun/moon, signs in the heavens (falling stars), and the formation of Israel as a nation, leading to a final, visible return with great glory, though interpretations vary on timing and specifics, with some emphasizing a sudden event and others a culmination of events.
The "4 stages of God's revelation" often refer to a progression in Abrahamic faiths: Primitive/Natural (creation), Patriarchal (covenants with figures like Abraham), Mosaic/Prophetic (Law through Moses and prophets), and Christian/Fulfillment (Jesus Christ, the ultimate revelation). These stages show God revealing Himself increasingly fully, culminating in Jesus, who is considered the definitive Word of God, followed by the Church's ongoing teaching.
The Bible says yes—but don't panic. In 1 John 2, we see signs of spiritual deception, false substitutes for Christ, and people walking away from the faith. But we also see a clear call to abide in Jesus, walk in truth, and live holy lives as we await His return.
“When the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour” (v. 1). Commentators differ regarding the relationship of John's vision of the church on earth and on heaven to the seven seals on the heavenly scroll (see Rev. 5–6).
Signs
The Bible describes Israel's role in the last days as central, involving a mass return to the land, significant conflict (like attacks from "Magog"), a covenant with the Antichrist, and ultimately, national salvation and restoration when they recognize Jesus as the Messiah, leading to His millennial kingdom established in Jerusalem. Key prophecies mention the regathering of Jewish people, Jerusalem becoming a focal point, the land becoming fruitful, and a final spiritual turning to Jesus, fulfilling promises made in the Old Testament.
According to the 'end of the world' Christian theory, the world will end with the return of Jesus Christ, and there will be a judgement of the lives people lived, good or bad.
Prophecies for August 2025 largely center around interpretations of Baba Vanga's "double fire" prediction, suggesting wildfires, volcanic eruptions, or even celestial events, alongside various spiritual and political interpretations for the month, including themes of awakening, new beginnings, and conflict in the Middle East, with many Christian prophecies focusing on divine favor and preparedness for Christ's return.
In Matthew 24:24, Jesus warns His disciples, “False Christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” These words appear to refer to the events surrounding Jerusalem's destruction in AD 70. But the deception Jesus has in view is part of an ongoing pattern.
There's no single #1 worst sin; it depends on the religious or moral framework, but pride is often called the root of all evil (Christianity/Islam), while the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (unforgivable sin) is considered the gravest in the Bible. Other severe sins include child abuse (Catholicism) and sins that "cry to Heaven" (like shedding innocent blood or oppressing the poor).
In the same way, the Feast of Trumpets points forward to Christ's return. However, it does not give us September 23, 2025 as the date of the rapture. Rather, it reminds us to wake up, to stay ready, to live holy, and to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.
Here are seven end-time signs to aid us in being prepared for the most important day of our lives—and in all of human history.
For systematic treatment it is best to distinguish between (A) individual and (B) universal and cosmic eschatology, including under (A): (1) death; (2) the particular judgment; (3) heaven, or eternal happiness; (4) purgatory, or the intermediate state; (5) hell, or eternal punishment; and under (B): (6) the approach of ...
Mary was making memories. She was collecting a sort of mental scrapbook. The other key word in this verse is the word, “pondered.” The Greek word means “to throw thoughts together; mull over, draw conclusions, consider, confer mentally.” Another definition for ponder is to wonder at a deep level.
The following were studied in order to construct a Biblical understanding of the events which are yet to unfold: (1) individual eschatology, (2) the rapture, (3) the tribulation, (4) the second coming, (5) the Millennium Kingdom, (6) the final judgement, and (7) the eternal state.
