GSTR 9 last date for FY 2024-25 is 31st December 2025. GST annual return due date or GSTR-9 due date is 31st of December of next year for a particular financial year.
As per Rule 80 of the CGST Rules, 2017, every registered person liable to file Annual Return for every financial year is required to file the same on or before the 31st December of next financial year. Accordingly, the last date of filing Annual Return for FY 2021-22 is 31st December, 2022.
06/2025 dated 17 October 2025, the Ministry extended the filing deadline for financial statements and annual returns pertaining to FY 2024-25 to 31 December 2025, without any additional fees. The original statutory deadlines were: Financial statements (Form AOC-4 series): 30 October 2025 (within 30 days of AGM)
For GST, the CRA filing and payment deadline is 3 months after your fiscal year end. For GST filed and paid annually, the CRA payment deadline is April 30 and the filing deadline is June 15. For GST filed and paid monthly and quarterly, the CRA filing and payment deadline is one month after the reporting period.
Example 1 – If GSTR 9 is furnished on 25th December 2025 (due date 31st December 2025) and GSTR 9C is furnished on 7th January 2026. Then no late fees is levied for GSTR 9 as it is furnished within due date. However late fees for 7 days (delay in furnishing of GSTR 9C) is auto populated in GSTR 9C.
Monthly GST Returns Due Dates
The GSTR-1 reports details of all outward supplies (sales). The GST 1 due date is the 11th of the following month. GSTR-3B is a summary return that contains details of sales, purchases, tax liability, and ITC claims. GST 3B due date is the 20th of the following month.
September 15, 2026 - Third quarter 2026 estimated tax payment due. October 15, 2026 - Deadline to file your extended 2025 tax return. If you chose to file an extension request on your tax return, this is the due date for filing your tax return.
Income Tax Return Last Date FY 2024-25 (AY 2025-26) The due date for filing of Income Tax Returns (ITRs) for AY 2025-26, originally due on 31 July 2025, was extended to 15 September 2025.
Accordingly, to facilitate a smooth and convenient filing experience for taxpayers, it has been decided that the due date for filing of ITRs, originally due on 31st July, 2025, is extended to 15th September, 2025. A formal notification to this effect is being issued separately.
The annual GST return requires the taxpayer to enter information relating to sales and purchases and the actual tax debits and tax credits that relate to a financial year period (e.g. from 1 July to 30 June). The outgoing annual GST return will be sent to taxpayers after Q4 each year (that is after 30 June).
The extension applies to both monthly and quarterly filers under section 39 of the CGST Act, 2017. Registered taxpayers can now file their GSTR-3B for the month of September 2025 or the quarter of July–September 2025 by October 25, 2025, instead of the earlier due date.
Form GSTR-9 is an annual return to be filed once for each financial year, by the registered taxpayers who were regular taxpayers, including SEZ units and SEZ developers. The taxpayers are required to furnish details of purchases, sales, input tax credit or refund claimed or demand created etc.
From April 1, 2025, Input Service Distributor (ISD) registration will be compulsory for businesses having multiple Goods & Services Tax Identification Numbers (GSTINs). The time limit for the validity of an E-Way bill will be 180 days, and it can be extended to 360 days.
On 27th May, 2025, a press release was released by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), stating that the due date for ITR filing for assessment year 2025-26 (FY 24-25) has now been extended to 15th September, 2025, from the original due date of 31st July, 2025.
All regular GST-registered taxpayers are required to file the GSTR-9 Annual Return on or before 31st December after the conclusion of the concerned financial year.

Taxpayers have until Wednesday, April 15, 2026, to file their 2025 tax returns and pay any tax due. The IRS expects to receive about 164 million individual income tax returns this year, with most taxpayers filing electronically.
The return for September 2025 may now be filed till October 25, 2025, and similarly, for taxpayers filing quarterly returns (July–September 2025 quarter), the due date is also extended to October 25, 2025.
Individuals with a GST account for a personal business (sole proprietorship) typically report GST in line with the calendar year (January 1 – December 31). Generally these returns are due to be filed by June 15 of the following year, however if GST is owed to the government, the payment deadline is April 30.
The due date for filing GSTR-4 is the 30th of April following the relevant financial year. For instance, for the financial year 2023-24, GSTR-4 is due by 30th April 2024. Previously, until the financial year 2018-19, the due date was the 18th of the month following the end of the quarter.
