TFTP (Trivial File Transfer Protocol)
It runs over UDP, which means that it is faster, but at the same time – less stable.
We would suggest that you want if you want to transfer a small file on your network, or you want to give a quick command like print; you can choose SMB server. But when it comes to large file transfers with your network ecosystem, using FTP is a faster and more reliable option to choose.
-HTTP without any additional logic is typically slower than FTP. That is because HTTP POST requests cannot be very large. Therefore, large files must be chopped into multiple request. -On the other hand, smart algorithms can be used in HTTP to compensate for this speed lag, which allow HTTP to be actually faster.
Typically, SFTP is faster than HTTPS for transferring larger files as it is typically designed for transferring files and can make more efficient use of bandwidth. However, HTTPS can also be fast, especially using a modern version of TLS with efficient cipher suites.
SFTP is generally slower than FTP due to the security built into the protocol. The data is encrypted, which takes time, but perhaps more importantly the protocol itself functions differently; it's not "streamed" like FTP. One limitation of SFTP is that, being reliant on SSH, it requires authentication.
NFS generally delivers faster performance in Unix/Linux setups due to lower overhead, while SMB can perform better in Windows networks due to tighter OS integration.
SMB NTLM Blocking
New policies prevent SMB authentication using NTLM, an outdated protocol vulnerable to relay attacks. Before: SMB allowed NTLM authentication, which attackers could exploit. After: SMB now blocks NTLM by default, forcing clients to use stronger authentication methods like Kerberos.
