There has been a 3.1% increase in the full new state pension in 2022/23. How much you will receive is based on your national insurance record when you reach state pension age. You will only get the full amount if you have a minimum 35 full qualifying years of contributions.

In 2022-23, the full level of the new state pension rises by 3.1% taking it to £185.15 a week, or £9,627.80 a year.
How much is the state pension in 2022? The state pension and certain benefits have risen by 3.1% from Monday. The changes mean the basic state pension will rise by £4.25 a week to £141.85 a week, with the full state pension going up £5.55 a week to £185.15.

Seniors aged 75 and over will see an automatic 10% increase of their Old Age Security pension, as of July 2022.
From 1 July 2022, the deeming threshold for a single pensioner will be $56,400 (up from $53,600) and for couples the threshold will be $93,600 (up from $89,000). While these changes are incremental, they will result in real increases in pension payments.

You can still delay taking your State Pension in the new system just like in the old scheme. You will get about 5.8% increase in your State Pension for every year you defer compared to the previous system which stood at 10.4%. It comes down to the amount of savings you already have, plus all sorts of asset types combined. For example, if you are a single homeowner you can get a full pension with an asset limit of $270,500. As a couple with a home and combined assets your limit is reached at $405,000 to receive a full pension.
Note that the GIS application form and the GIS update form are now the same form. When a start date is announced, Old Age Security for people 75 and over will increase to OVER $700 per month when implemented in 2022.
An official with the Social Security Administration said beneficiaries are likely to receive a COLA “closer to 8%” at the end of 2022 due to the current rate of inflation, CBS News reported. Beneficiaries could see an increase of $132.64 per month in early 2023, bringing the average check to about $1,790.
Increased Old Age Security pension at age 75
The 10% increase in the maximum OAS pension rate will not affect the calculation of your Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS).

Waiting until your full retirement age will maximize the Social Security benefits you'll receive. Full retirement age is based on your birth year, but for those who turn 62 during or after 2022, your full retirement age will be 67.
