In Hebrews 13, Paul reminds us to “keep our lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have.” No matter how big your dreams are, remember to be content now. The God of the universe is for you, and that is bigger than any financial struggles you may be dealing with.
God would never let you go through a hardship to only bring you pain without purpose. Just as God used Mary's hardship for His glory, He also plans to use our hardships for His glory. The pain you experience now is only temporarily, but if you persevere in the Lord, you will see God's faithfulness.
So many of the miracles we find in the Bible are miracles of provision. They are financial or material miracles. The Feeding of the 5,000, the only miracle in all four Gospels, is a miracle of material provision. This miracle, like many miracles of provision, has powerful spiritual significance, too.
You are the God who provides all my needs according to your riches in Glory. I come to You as I am struggling financially, asking for your provision. Remove my fear, doubt, and unbelief. Fill me with Your peace and confidence in the promise of your care for me in time of need.
Throughout the Bible, we find powerful promises of God's provision and encouragement to trust Him with our needs. From verses about prosperity to prayers for financial security, Scripture reminds us that God cares deeply about every aspect of our lives, including our finances.
Proverbs 22:26-27
"Be not one of those who give pledges, who put up security for debts. If you have nothing with which to pay, why should your bed be taken from under you?"
How long will God allow me to suffer? God does not give us a set time because suffering is never about time. The purpose of suffering is never about a length of time, it is about the depth of power and the height of transformation God accomplishes in us through it.
God allows us to struggle and fail to bring humility and realization we need Him in our lives all day, every day. Sometimes it is hard to see and understand why a loving God allows us to struggle and experience hardship, but it is because of His love for us and His desire to bring us closer to Him he allows it.
James 5:13 New Living Translation (NLT)
Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises.
Luke 6:20–21 (NIV)
Looking at his disciples, he said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.”
He calls us to be good stewards of the resources He has entrusted to us, using them to bless others and advance His kingdom on Earth. This means that wealth should never be viewed as an end in itself but rather as a means to fulfill God's purposes and impact the lives of those around us.
Gracious God, We know that your love is infinite and that you care about all areas of our life. In this time of economic insecurity, help us to trust that all of our security is in you. Keep us mindful that you always have and always will provide for our needs.
The IRS may agree that you have a financial hardship (economic hardship) if you can show that you cannot pay or can barely pay your basic living expenses. For the IRS to determine you are in a hardship situation, the IRS will use its collection financial standards to determine allowable basic living expenses.
through different meditation, just relaxing and just being here in this moment. grateful. You'll need to be confident that you can use that money. spiritual side, that money is flowing there for me and that's what you have to do also.
Sometimes, financial stress is caused by factors outside of your control. Other times, it can be the result of poor financial choices, lack of financial knowledge, or somebody else having control of your finances.
Father, I present my finances before You, and I pray for a financial miracle—an increase in wealth and a decrease in losses. I desire to let go of the stress and depression that a lack of money has caused me. Amen.”
It's natural to want a life without suffering, but the truth is, trials often bring us closer to God, reveal His strength, and shape us into the people He created us to be. Even when life feels unbearably hard, God is working for your good and His glory, often in ways you cannot see now but may one day understand.
It may be that you have too much credit card debt, not enough income, or you overspend on unnecessary purchases when you feel stressed or anxious. Or perhaps, it's a combination of problems. Make a separate plan for each one.
Yet, our Creator God wants everyone to truly prosper in the area of personal finances. Notice the prosperity He gave to Joseph anciently: “And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man …. [T]he Lord made all that [Joseph] did to prosper in his hand” (Genesis 39:2-3).
We can and should ask God for financial help, but always in the light of what the true purpose of prayer is—to lead us into a closer relationship with and obedience to God (James 4:8).
The Bible talks about three main responsibilities you have with your money. They are God, family, and government. (God) Proverbs 3:9-10 – “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.”
