That's the first way Paul says it in Romans 11:34–36. “God doesn't owe us. We owe him. Everything is his already.”
Jesus teaches us that God is good, gracious, and absolutely loving. Strictly speaking, why does God not owe us anything? He has already given us all that we are and all that we have: the gift of life, the gift of our talents and possessions, the gift of salvation, the gift of adoption into the divine family.
Even the Bible says that – you don't get what you've asked for, because you're asking for selfish things. So if you're asking for the wrong things, God's not going to give us the wrong things. He's going to give us good things to those who ask him. And some of the things we ask for are not good.
Justice is about what we owe to God and what we owe to others. He holds us in existence, He provides for our smallest needs, He became man, suffered and died to save us from Hell and give us eternal life. Then, in return - we owe Him everything.
God owes us nothing! There is nothing we can do to put God in a position of owing us something. There is nothing we can do to place God in our debt. Jesus says in verse 10 that we are unworthy of any praise.
You and I can't draw our next breath apart from His grace. Everything we have, we owe to Him. So, when we do something as an act of divine service, as our reasonable service, our intelligent worship, yielding our bodies to Him to do what He says, it doesn't begin to repay the debt we owe. We owe Him everything.
God won't heal us until we can handle it.
Jesus says in Matthew 7:9-10, “Which of you, if your son asks for...a fish, will give him a snake?” He makes the point that, as God's children, if we ask Him for something we think is good, God won't give us something that will harm us instead.
Proverbs 20. God uses problems to DIRECT you. Sometimes God must light a fire under you to get you moving. Problems often point us in a new direction and motivate us to change.
He loves us too much to give us something we wouldn't be able to handle quite yet. He loves us too much to allow us to settle, or to veer off the road He has marked for each of us. It might be different, it might be uncomfortable, but nevertheless, what God has in store for us will be good.
Yes. In heaven one will speak to God face to face which in impossible in this life.
Here's the bottom of it all: You can't please God without faith, "For (= because) he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him." Because of this, only by faith can we please God.
The sense of the Greek is that we should not let any debt remain outstanding—that we should not keep on owing anyone for anything. That may be understood as a requirement to always pay what we owe in a timely manner according to whatever agreement we have made with the lender.
We will never be able to repay the Lord with anything of valuable proportion to what we have received from him. But we can receive each gift he gives with thanksgiving and gratitude. We can live our lives for Him.
Isaiah 14:24-27
God is sovereign. He is the supreme authority over everything, including sin and its repercussions. He doesn't cause anyone to sin, but He will allow temptation to enter our life. And since we have free will and the Holy Spirit, we can decide how to respond.
Give Him full dominion in your life and affairs. Give Him your business, your family affairs, your finances, and let Him pay your debts. He is even now doing it, for it is His righteous desire to free you from every burden, and He is leading you out of the burden of debt, whether of owing or being owed.
God allows us adversity so we can lean upon His strength and become stronger through His Spirit. In Hebrews 12:11, we read that we face adversity and discipline because it is a benefit “for those who have been trained by it.” Our troubles are part of our spiritual training.
Sometimes in our suffering, God is trying to take out some idol from our lives. (I've been there.) Psalm 119:71 says, “My suffering was good for me, because it taught me to pay attention to your decrees” (NLT). God sometimes uses suffering to get our attention.
One of the clearest signs that God is moving you is if He starts to speak to you directly through His Word or other people. If you feel like God is consistently speaking to you about a particular thing, it's likely that He is trying to guide you in that direction.
God is asking you to do something again.
As I stated earlier, the prefix “re” means again, and again. It means repetition. So another sign that God is about to restore your life is that He's asking you to do something again.
God will allow our pain to achieve His ends. Suffering can be where excess is cleared (or burned) away. It can be a way of securing goods and removing hindrances. You don't know what God is bringing you to or protecting you from.
When some sick people are not healed through prayer, it may simply be because we haven't prayed long enough to bring the healing to completion. "Now will not God see justice done to his chosen who cry to him day and night even when he delays to help them?" (Luke 18:7) JB translation.
You will be in heaven if you follow Christ. So much happier, but not one bit more secure than you are right now, having been chosen by God and sealed by His spirit and counted among the 144,000 of his redeemed people.
God doesn't owe anybody anything. He gives things because He is good and gracious.
