Your DailyPay balance likely says $0 because you're at the start of a new pay period, payroll is being processed (often on Tuesdays), your earnings are fully transferred, your remaining balance is going to your main check, or there's a delay in hours being reported, with common reasons being weekends for salaried workers or payroll processing.
If what is available now in DailyPay has not been updated, please check to see that you have correctly logged your hours. Your earnings can potentially be delayed by the kind of work you're doing, how it's being reported or how much data is being entered by your employer's payroll team at one time.
Your available balance is updated daily as soon as your most recent shift hours are sent to DailyPay. How quickly will I receive my money? DailyPay offers two types of transfers: next-business-day (called “Next”) and instant (called “Now”).
Why aren't all my earnings made available to me early? DailyPay gives you access to only a portion of your earnings to make sure that you won't transfer more than you've earned, after taxes and deductions. On payday, your employer will calculate your taxes and deductions, and determine your paycheck.

Here's how it works: At the beginning of the pay period, you'll typically see a higher amount available for transfer. Then, as you work more (which generally means your deductions increase), you will see a slight decrease in the amount made available from later shifts.
This usually happens if the employee's personal bank account information (bank account and routing numbers) on file with DailyPay is incorrect. The rejected/failed payment will be returned by the bank to DailyPay. This process takes up to three business days.
If your earnings haven't been updated in the DailyPay app, we're here to help. Typically, there are a few common reasons for this: Weekend (Salaried earnings will never update during the weekend) Day before payday (available earnings goes to $0 so we can send you the remainder pay the following day)
As you work during the week, you will build up an Available Balance. The Available Balance is an approximation of earnings based on the hours you've worked minus any withholdings (like taxes, garnishments, etc.). In other words, your Available Balance is money that you've already earned. DailyPay is available 24/7/365.
DailyPay offers two types of transfers: next-business-day and instant. The timing is as follows: Instant = money is available instantly, 24/7, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays. Next Day = Transfers requested before 5:30PM EST are available in the morning on the next business day.
Your available balance isn't updating due to pending transactions (debit card authorizations, uncashed checks, direct deposits), payment processing delays (especially after a payment or deposit), security holds, bank processing times (weekends/holidays), or system glitches, meaning your "current balance" reflects everything, while "available balance" shows what you can actually spend right now.
To reactivate DailyPay, log into your account on the app or website, find the notification (often a bell icon) or "Restore your account" link, and follow the prompts to confirm; if you canceled, use your old login, but if your employer closed it, you'll need to contact support or your payroll department, as reactivation might not be possible on your own.
DailyPay is connected to your employer's timekeeping system and receives automated reports of your hours worked. Usually, it takes 24 hours for a shift to be added to the automated reports. (At times, due to unexpected delays in reporting, it can take up to 3 days for a worked shift to be reported.)
You won't be able to get all your earnings early with DailyPay. It's likely to be around half of what you earn, especially in the first few weeks. That's intentional and is just to make sure that everything works the way it should in the early months.
Holds, fees, purchases, or deposits not yet posted don't appear in your actual balance. Available balance is the amount of money in your account including pending transactions. Even if your balance shows enough funds, you can overdraw because of items not yet posted.
What is a Zero Balance? The amount owed on a credit card account when it has been paid in full. The payment made completely wipes out the amount owed, sending the account balance to zero.
If DailyPay didn't pay you, first check the app for error messages or notifications about bank info, card issues, or multi-day verification, then ensure your bank/card details are correct in the app; if the problem persists, contact your employer and DailyPay's customer support for help resolving account/payment discrepancies. Common reasons for missed payments include incorrect bank details, unsupported instant transfer cards, or employer reporting delays, but contacting support is key.
If your bank observes an unusual or irregular activity in your account, like deposits, withdrawals, or payments, your account balance may be put on hold until further investigation. Deposited cheques: A common reason for a hold on bank account balance is a few cheques being in the middle of the clearing process.
The pay balance contains up to 100% of the employee's anticipated net earned pay. The remaining balance is automatically deposited into the employee's primary bank account on payday, just like their regular paycheck.
If your UPI payment is deducted but not received: Wait for 48 hours for automatic reversal. Raise a complaint via your UPI app. Contact your bank with transaction details.
