When having a meal with people of various ages, it is known for Koreans to let the senior member at the table dine first, then the rest can start. For instance, grandchildren are taught to let their grandmother start eating before they and the rest of the family.

Banchan means side dish in Korean, but in reality it's a bunch of small dishes filled to the brim with pickles and the like that scatter the table at lunch or dinner.
Among the surveyed Koreans in their 30s, 38.7 percent of them said they eat alone because they do not have company during meal times. Meanwhile, 21.5 percent said they just did not have enough time to eat with someone else. Another 16.1 percent said they ate alone to save time.

Considering that the average height of Korean men is 173-174 cm (5'6-5'7 ft), isn't it a lot taller? It seems that Korean women usually prefer men who are 10-15 cm (3-5 in) taller than them. The most popular women amongst men were around 161-165 cm (5'2-5'4 ft). The second most popular was 156-160 cm (5'1-5'2 ft).
Tipping in bars and restaurants is not expected in South Korea, unlike in most countries in Europe and in the United States. The general rule is the service should be exceptional at all times, and with no expectation of extra pay. Tipping in South Korea can be considered rude and frowned upon.
